Federal Route 3 is a 700km + road from kelantan to johor along the south China Sea. I first came to knowledge of this route thanks to my uncle who introduced this route to me and brought me along for the road trip back in the year 2017. We traveled from penang and use the gerik mountain road to cut across the peninsular to kelantan and then travel downwards from above. Entire trip was just chill and we will stop along any beaches or views we find interesting by turning left leaving route 3. The trip opens my eyes to how rural Malaysia looks like or how the majority of Malaysia is like, and by that trip I came to a realisation that penang is really a Chinese bubble haha and I am grateful for the experience to see different perspective traveling along the route as an ordinary Chinese born in this land, and I hope more of my friends from penang is able to take on this trip.
The places people along the route are chill and very laid back, it is unlike any other experiences I have ever had especially in my hometown and the cities. And in my honest opinion it should remain that way, preserve the real vibe of classic Malaya. One of the most memorable spot of the entire trip is spotting a sjkc school beside the sea in nenasi pahang
A year later ducati Malaysia approached me and I had this idea of revisiting the route using their motorcycles while promoting their latest motorcycle in the form of visual, so I proposed a reverse version from the south to the north and they're cool with it, we go on the trip together with whyzul another well experienced rider. I'm glad the personal experience of my trip with my uncle eventually led to a bigger project.
