Thanks to the game msplestory I came in touch with maple story animation, I started making the animation on YouTube when I was in secondary school but didn't persisted long enough and went to try out other domains of art. Maple story animation taught me about the value of comedy storytelling in creating funny contents, the 2d character sprites are from the game itself so the creation process is simplified, back then I started using neopaint to animate frame by frame and eventually moved to macro media flash and then Sony Vegas, the 2d animation community on YouTube is also very tight knitted and we support each other work genuinely the healthy loop push me to improve my technical skills and software skills and even my English language skills as I get to interact with audience from the western world. It is also the firs time my works get valued and have positive feedbacks
My love for the game maple story (I as a player controlling the game character) leads to the love for animation creation (directing what the character do) in order to deliver an emotion to the audience, maple story game and all the interactions within the game give me a lot of inspiration to be turned into funny scenes n shorts which sometime make no sense but bring laughter and positivity to the ppl watching it. Back then banned story existed so maple story character sprites are readily available and can be easily animated without having the need n time to prepare the character sprites. Animating it with neopaint is fairly easy too frame by frame and motion tweening it. Eventually I came across Sony Vegas software and it has better feature which still allow the user to have full control of the character sprite moving from point A to B and the process is smooth and easy.
2d animation unlike the 3d animation which I've learned in university is not too complicated as it only involves x and y axis but not z axis. Throughout my animation making process I also aware about the importance of sound in the making of a video. Below are some of my old animations which I have made during high school time, they might be naive they might be stupidly funny but looking back they represent the precious inner child of mine that I have and before they get washed away by the waves of growth in the harsh reality of the world we live in.
